Achtung, der Workshop endet mit einem Abschlusskonzert der Workshopteilnehmer am 25.Juli, Freskensaal, 18.00 Uhr!
Ziel des Workshops ist die Anregung der eigenen Kreativität und Erweiterung des musikalischen Horizontes. Im Vordergrund steht nicht das perfekte technische Spiel, sondern die Lust Neues zu entdecken, eigene Melodien und Ausdrucksformen zu finden. Das gemeinsame Musizieren und Experimentieren ist eine gute Möglichkeit Erfahrungen für das improvisatorische Spiel zu sammeln und die eigene Kompetenz dafür zu entwickeln. "Weg von den Noten und hin zu den eigenen Melodien". (Ohren öffnen und Augen schließen). Anhand von freien Improvisationen, rhythmischen Impulsen, Akkordfolgen und Skalen aus dem Bereich Worldmusik und Jazz werden in Gruppen- und Einzelarbeit Improvisationsmuster, Jazzgrundkenntnisse, verschiedene rhythmische (z.B. der "Slap") und melodische Möglichkeiten mit Hilfe von "learning by doing" entdeckt/erlernt.
Mit Übungen aus dem Qi Gong sowie der Kinesiologie um die linke und die rechte Gehirnhälfte zu aktivieren. Eine inspirierende Begegnung mit der Musik, mit Klängen, Geräuschen, der Stille, mit Körper und Geist! Der Workshop ist offen für Haken,- Volks- und Konzertharfenspieler. Nicht für blutige Anfänger geeignet. Zwei Jahre Erfahrung (Unterricht) mit der Harfe ist erforderlich. Der Unterrichtstoff richtet sich nach dem Können der Teilnehmer, d.h. für die Kursteilnehmer 2010/2011 und 2012 gibt es eine Fortsetzung des Unterrichtsstoffes. Der Kurs endet mit einem Abschlusskonzert am 25. Juli um 18.00 Uhr im Freskensaal des Stift Viktring.
Mitzubringen sind: Die eigene Harfe, eventuell ein Lied/Komposition über die man improvisieren möchte, Bleistift und Notenheft.

Moving from the notes towards one's own melodies" (open your ears and close your eyes) / Using free improvisation, rhythmic stimuli, cordal sequences, and scales from the sphere of world music and jazz patterns of improvisation, basic knowledge of jazz, various rhythmic ( e.g. the "slap" ) and melodic possibilities are all discovered and learned through "learning by doing" in groups and in individual work.
Exercises from Qi Gong and Kinesiology are implemented to activate the connections between the right and the left hemispheres of the brain. (...)The subject matter conforms to the capability of the course participants. The workshop is open to players of hook, Volks- and performance harps, but not suitable for total beginners. Two years of practice (with tuition) in playing the harp is required. For all these who attended the workshop in 2010/2011 and 2012 the subject will be continued. The workshop ends with the final concert on July 25, at six p.m.
You need to bring your own harp, perhaps a song or a composition you would like to improvise on, a pencil and a music notebook.

Monika Stadler - Harfenistin und Komponistin
Ab 13 Jahren erhielt Monika Stadler Harfenunterricht am Linzer Konservatorium und bei Annemarie Zangerle (Salzburg). Mit 15 ging sie auf das Musikgymnasium Linz. 1982-1990 Studium des Konzertfachs Harfe (Klassik) in Wien bei Prof. Adelheid Blovsky-Miller. Während des Studiums - Orchestermitglied bei den Wiener Symphonikern, Mitwirkung an den Produktionen der Wiener Staatsoper und Ensemblemitglied beim Carinthischen Sommer. 1990 Abschluss der Hochschulstudiums mit Auszeichnung. 1991/92 - Jazzstipendium bei Dejan Pecenko am Linzer Konservatorium. Da es in Europa keine Möglichkeit gab, Jazzharfe zu studieren, ging sie nach Amerika. In den USA - Unterricht bei Deborah Henson-Conant (Jazzharfe), David Clark (Bass) am Berklee College  in Boston (Massachusetts) und bei David Darling (freie Improvisation). Zur Zeit lebt Monika Stadler in Wien. Neben ihrer internationalen Konzerttätigkeit macht sie Aufnahmen für TV/Radio in Österr. und im Ausland und gemeinsame Projekte in allen Kunstbereichern. Sie leitet Workshops für Improvisation und Jazz in Europa und USA. Freies Spielen ohne Noten und ohne Begrenzung - Monika Stadlers Musik erweitert die Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten für Harfe um improvisatorische, jazzige, gefühlvolle, virtuose und vor allem um die für die Harfe untypischen rhythmischen Elemente. Sie bringt nicht nur die Harfe ganz neu zum Klingen, sondern auch die Gefühle ihrer Zuhörer.

From the age of thirteen Monika Stadler received harp tuition at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and from Annemarie Zangerle in Salzburg. From the age of 15 she attended the Musikgymnasium in Linz and then studied performing harp
( classical ) with Prof.Adelheid Blovsky-Miller in Vienna. During her studies she was a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, contributed to productions of the Vienna State Opera and worked  as a member of the ensemble at the Carinthian Summer Music Festival. She graduated with distinction in 1990. In 1991/92 she received a scholarship at the Conservatory Linz with Dejan Pecenko. As there was no opportunity to study the jazz harp in Europe, she went to the United States. There she was taught by Deborah Henson-Conant (jazz harp), David Clark (Bass) at the Berklee College of Music, and by  David Darling (free improvisation). Currently, Monika Stadler is living in Vienna. In addition to her international work as a concert player she does recordings for TV and radio in Austria and abroad as well as cooperative projects with artists from all fields of art.  She conducts workshops for improviasation and jazz in Europe and in the United States. Free play without notes or restrictions - Monika Stadler´s music expands the options of expression for harp with improvising, jazzy, emotional, virtuoso and most of all with rhythmic elements atypical for the harp. Not only does she make the harp sing, with elements of folk, world music and jazz, but also the audience's emotions.

AUFNAHMEBEDINGUNGEN. Die Teilnahme an den einzelnen Kursen ist ab dem 15. Lebensjahr möglich.
CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION. People over the age of 15 are allowed to participate in courses.

ANMELDUNG. Die Anmeldung erlangt durch Überweisung der Anmeldegebühr von € 50,- ihre Gültigkeit. Sie ist bis spätestens 26. Juni 2013 mittels Erlagschein oder Euro-Überweisung auf das Konto des Musikforum, BLZ 17000, BKS (Bank für Kärnten und Steiermark), Konto-Nr.: 116001039, IBAN: AT381700000116001039, Swift-Nr. BIC: BFKKAT2K, mit dem Zusatz „Spesenfrei für den Empfänger“ (Verwendungszweck: "Name/ Name des Kursleiters") einzuzahlen. Im Falle einer Nichtteilnahme wird die Anmeldegebühr einbehalten. Die restliche Kursgebühr ist bei der Inskription in bar zu bezahlen.

ENROLMENT. Saturday, July 20th, 9 - 11 a.m. at MUSIKFORUM office, Stift Viktring. The workshop begins at 11.30 a.m. The participants will receive all necessary information about their course on enrolment.

UNTERKUNFT. Bei rechtzeitiger Anmeldung stellt Ihnen das Sekretariat gerne Adressen von Hotels und privaten Pensionen in der Umgebung des Stiftes zur Verfügung.
ACCOMODATION. If you register in a timely manner, the office will gladly provide you with hotel and private B&B addresses in the surrounding area of the course location.

ÜBUNGSRÄUME. Das weiträumige Stift bietet ausreichende Übungsräume an.
REHEARSAL ROOMS. The monastery provides an extensive number of rehearsal rooms.
